In a study of over 5,000 businesses, HubSpot found that traffic from LinkedIn generated the highest visitor-to-lead conversion rate at 2.74%, almost 3 times higher (277%) than both Twitter (.69%) and Facebook (.77%).
So, if your ideal client is a senior level manager, executive or industry specialist within any of the dozens of industries that fall under the ‘professional services sector‘, LinkedIn is the perfect social media platform to connect with them and get noticed.
When your prospective clients go to LinkedIn, they are focused on business and developing strong relationships with key people.
People who use LinkedIn have an “outcomes-focussed” mind-set and love the fact that they are unlikely to see cat videos, or images of what people are having for lunch that day.
In a nutshell, you’re connecting with your ideal type of client in an environment where they are in the right frame of mind for making business decisions.
So the plan is to create a strong personal LinkedIn profile and then build up your online presence with quality blog posts and even videos so when your prospective clients view your profile, they will be compelled to reach out with a request to connect with you.
