Help us Raise Money to Empower the Rural Kids of Sri Lanka

We recently spent 10 days in Sri Lanka raising money for the Foundation of Goodness to provide resources to one of the less resourced parts of Sri Lanka.  My pledge is to raise $5000 by 30 November 2018.

I will be holding a number of events to promote this cause over the next few months, and have included a few images and videos to show you our journey around Sri Lanka, and pictures of how the funds are allocated.

The Village Heartbeat Centre helps the rural kids who have insufficient resources to be effectively educated.  We are on a mission to empower them to greatness.

Jesse Longe riding the Fern Financial Tuk TukWe started at Jaffna and ended in Colombo, I travelled with my 2 children, Jack and Stephanie, and 15 other Australians.

The ride is in excess of 1,030 kms and my goal is to show my children how we can all make a difference with experiences like this.

What’s the Cause?

We are raising funds to provide a resource for children in rural Sri Lanka, so they get access to tools and technology that the city kids get.

With enough money raised, we intend to set up a “Village Heart Beat Centre” in Moneragala, which is one of the poorer towns in Sri Lanka.

The money raised will fund it for 3 years to operate, and that includes the wages of teaching staff.   We aim to make a difference to the lives of  750 children, youths and females.

You will no doubt agree that this is a worthy cause.

What is the Organisation behind this?

Foundation of Goodness (FOG) is a NGO in Sri Lanka which started in 1999 with the aim of narrowing the gap between the rural and urban communities by unconditionally supporting the disadvantaged people in every possible way. FOG has already empowered over 30,000 lives in over 100 villages. They have a vision of setting up 25 Village Heart Beat Projects. We have been blessed that FOG is facilitating this life changing initiative, which is the 10th Village Heart Beat Project.

Interested to Donate?

If you would like to donate to help support these children, you’ll be pleased to know that 100% of your funds will be going directly to the cause.  The money raised will help to build another resource centre in another rural location.

Thanks for supporting our efforts in raising money for this cause!
